An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) provides backup power to protect equipment from damage during a power outage or random power surge occurence in the line. The UPS will absorb the power surge spike and if a power outage occurs, the UPS should provide you enough time to shut down down your system without data loss within 5-10 minutes (depending on power draw of all devices connected to UPS). UPS systems containing 2 batteries may double that shutdown time-frame. We test and replace each UPS unit with new batteries. The UPS units pictured here generally cost $200-$350 (new). We offer reburbished units in $75-$150 range (local pickup & delivery only). Contact us to for availability & pricing.

Cleaning & lubricating a computer tower
Cleaning & Lubrication
Internal cleaning & lubrication of computer circuitry is paramount for any servicing project.

...

Internal circuitry cleaning & lubrication is paramount for any computer servicing project. Throughout time, "gunk" (i.e. dust, lint, oxidation) will develop on board & card attributes (i.e. capacitors, diodes, transisters, etc.) - including plug-in ports for your external devices (i.e. speakers, mice, transponders, docking stations, etc.). Noisy chassis or CPU fans can also be lubricated or inexpensively replaced. Periodic cicuitry lubrication is equivalent to regularly changing your car's engine oil - ensuring solid, spontaneous, connectivity for your external devices - less circuitry stress - maximizing your computer health & lifespan!

Old dried up thermal paste
Old Thermal Paste
Eventually, thermal paste on the Central Processing Unit (CPU) will dry up, flake & disintegrate - leading to internal overheating.

...

Louder Fan(s) work harder to expel the additional heat buildup to maintain proper temperature levels. Overheating will elevate abnormal stress to computer circuitry & parts - leading to poorer performance and premature parts & computer failure. Overheating also occurs from dust & lint build-up, blocking air vents and restricting air flow. Protect your computer investment! Contact us to establish a maintenance strategy for your computer. New thermal paste should be re-applied as part of your annual computer maintenance every 3-4 yrs.:-)

The silver heatsink (above) fastens to the CPU and conducts the heat via fan(s) thru the chassis vent(s). Thermal paste is essential to enhance the heat transfer between the CPU and the heat sink, filling microscopic gaps. Just as oil & lubrication maintenance is essential for vehicles & machinery, fresh thermal paste can extend the lifecycle of a computer.
